Gulag: Revisited [7:29]
Gulag: Revisited was the final project for my Documentary Film class taken under professor John Michalczyk. The interview was conducted
in-class as a demonstration of documentary interviewing techniques and was recorded by Joseph Widner, Michalczyk's longstanding cinematographer, using a Canon DVX-100. I then
edited the footage in Final Cut Pro to create a 'story' and intertwine historical footage.
The end result was well-received by Mr. Utley, who subsequently decided to help fund a full-length documentary on his father's life and struggle. It is currently
under development by John Michalczyk, where they are shooting on location in Russia.
